Key Up Education Field Trips
How do students and teachers know what to expect?
Prior to your field trip, a representative from Key Up Education will come to your school to help all teachers involved design a plan for your special day that targets the areas requested
by the teacher
. Key Up Education and our partners work hard to make sure each piece of the day, from our vocabulary to the focus on concepts. These concepts can include but are not limited to Science and/or Math centered concepts for the overall focus, however, all field trips include elements of the NC Engineering standards as well as exposure to technology as the teacher deems applicable.
In addition to this meeting between our representative and teachers, the same representative will also visit the school during the school day to meet with students that will be participating. This session lasts approximately 30 minutes and covers business attire, mannerisms, and a short exposure to what students can expect when they arrive. Note: Discussions during this session include business attire, however, we do
not
require any specific dress code for students at any time.
The next time your students will see their representative again will be the day of their exciting field trip at the RJG Training facility in Gibsonville, NC!
What are the field trips like?
Field trips are divided into the sessions described below:
Introductions to visiting professionals, (there to offer their appreciation and support for your students), as well as instructors and onsite engineers
Behind the scenes of Injection Molding
Real world application of word problems we confronted with each day in our field
Injection Molding In Action
Lunch
What do you mean, "field trips are differentiated for specific teacher/student needs?"
It is the opinion of all of us at Key Up Education that we do not want your time with us to be "just another day." Therefore, during our meeting with participating teachers prior to the field trip, we listen to you..the teacher and expert in the are of your students' needs... and work together to design every piece of the day in a target manner from standards being covered to vocabulary being used.
How long do they last?
Our field trips last approximately 2 hours for instruction and 1 hours for lunch and discussions.
How much do they cost?
Through the collective of our partners, the only cost you will incur will be that of your transportation and lunch. Through a collaborative effort between Key Up Education and our partners, (RJG, Inc., Fordham Plastics, and Zag Equipment Sales), we do not charge any amount for the field trip itself.
